Jaipur is one of the famous cities of Rajasthan located in the northern part of India. Jaipur being the capital city is considered as the first planned metropolitan are in Rajasthan. During the British rule, Rajasthan was known as the State of Jaipur, where Jaipur was the capital founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Currently, Jaipur is prominently known as the Pink City because it incorporates buildings painted in pink. The grand royal structure of Jaipur offers the visitors a rich taste of Rajputs and Royal families. Today this place is considered as one of the main business centers and tourist destinations equipped with all amenities of a metropolitan area.
Climate
Located in the deserts of Rajasthan, Jaipur is usually hot throughout the year with temperature reaching up to 40 degree centigrade during the summers. The city becomes pleasant, during the winter season when temperature ranges from 15 degree centigrade to 20 degree centigrade. In rainy season, the city receives heavy rainfall accompanied with thunder storms and strong winds. The winters bring in a change of cold wind waves that hit the city with a temperature which even drops to freezing point.
Places of Interest
Jaipur has a rich royal heritage and so it is well known for its marvelous palaces, gardens and forts. The untouched beauty of this place attracts huge tourists throughout the year. People visit the marvelous structures, grand palaces, lakes and gardens to experience the glory of the royal families in the past and their style of living. Some of the major tourist spots include:
- Gardens: Zoological Garden, Ram Niwas Garden, Vidhyadhar Garden, Central Park, Sisodia Rani Palace Garden, Kanak Vrindavan and Smriti Van.
- Palaces, Forts and Monuments: Rambagh Palace, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Jaighar Fort, Chandra Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam and Naharghar Fort to name a few.
- Temples: Birla Temple (Lakshmi Narayana Temple), Galtaji, Govinda Devi Ji Temple, Jain Temple, Sri Krishna Pranami Mandir and lots more.
Amber Fort
Amber Fort is the first on the list of many tourists on a sightseeing tour of the major tourist attractions in Jaipur. Set on a hilltop on the outskirts of Jaipur, it too nearly 2 centuries to complete this fort. Built by Raja Man Singh in the 16th century and completed by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th century, the Amber Fort has several sites worth a visit.
The City Palace Jaipur
The City Palace was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs, but a lot of changes and additions were made to the original structure by his successors. The architecture of the City Palace is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. The Complex comprises of many structures, courtyards, gardens and buildings. There are many splendid small palaces and halls in the complex, such as the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and Badal Mahal. There is also a famous temple called the Shri Govind Temple and a museum inside, named the City Palace Museum. As one enters the first courtyard, one comes across the Mubarak Mahal, which was built in the 19th century by Maharaja Madho Singh II. Here is a splendid gateway, which leads to the Diwan-I-Khas (Hall of Private audience). It is an open hall, where there are two silver vessels on display, which are in the Guinness book of World Records! One can also check out the Diwan-I-Aam (Hall of Public Audience).

Ram Niwas Bagh: Built as a famine relief project by Sawai Ram Singh II in 1868 AD, it houses a well-kept spacious garden with a zoo, an aviary, a greenhouse, a herbarium, a museum and a sport ground.

COIMBATORE - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.......
HISTORY OF COIMBATORE (1800-1900):
Coimbatore played a prominent role in the Second Poligar War against the British in 1801, when the first attack was done against the British Columns stationed in Coimbatore by the Poligars of Salem, Coimbatore and Dindigul region along with some Malabar and Mysore rebels.
In 1804 Coimbatore was established as a capital for the newly formed Coimbatore district and in 1848, it was accorded the municipality status. Coimbatore was in two parts for purposes of revenue administration. In 1804, the areas were merged into one and brought under one District Collector.
Sir Robert Stanes, a British entrepreneur and philanthropist, became the first Chairman of the Coimbatore City Council and also founded the Stanes School in 1862, a major higher secondary school that has stood until the present day as a jewel of the city.
During that time, Mr.H.S.GREAME,[I/C] from 20/10/1803 to 20/01/1805 was the Collector.In 1868, the Nilgiris District was bifurcated from the Coimbatore District. At the opening of the present century there were ten taluks in the district viz., Bhavani, Coimbatore, Dharapuram, Erode, Karur, Kollegal, Palladam, Pollachi, Satyamangalam and Udumalaipettai. The name of Satyamangalam taluk was subsequently changed as Gopichettipalaiyam. Avinashi taluk was formed in the year Karur taluk happened to be transferred to Tiruchirappalli district.

This is a huge gift for Coimbatore residents. Earlier before developing this bye pass, all lorries and heavy vehicles pass through the city which lead to a heavy traffic and congestion always. Now after opening this bye pass by Larsen and Tubro, all vehicles and lorries are bye passed through this road especially the trucks coming from Kerala passing through Coimbatore. Also it is a big saving grace for the truck drivers. Recent days there are huge constructions and developments happening in this bye pass road. Some new colleges like Sakthi Engineering are getting opened. Big companies like Premier Evolvics, Container Corporation of India are opened in this bye pass which makes it more popular.

A new Bye Pass was built so that the travelers going to Ukkadam region can reach there easily through this bye pass. The construction is very good and it is a gift to bike riders through Ukkadam. Also many lorries pass through this way so that more traffic can be avoided inside the city. It is a pleasure to travel through this bye pass in night times. The illuminations on both the sides are really good and one can enjoy riding through this way.
New Bus Stand built
A new hi-tech bus stand was built in Mettupalayam Road of Coimbatore. All buses going to Mettupalayam and Ooty will start from this bus stand. All hi-tech amenities are provided in this bus stand. People visiting this bus stand are more happy that a good infrastructure is made in Coimbatore. Due to this bus stand, a good amount of traffic reduction can be achieved in Coimbatore.

Gandhipuram is one of the busiest places in Coimbatore with a huge amount of traffic in morning and evening times. It is very difficult to drive in this area during those times. PSG College of Technology Over Bridge
Bridge connecting two colleges
This bridge was built a few years before to avoid accidents of students. It connects PSG College of Technology and PSG Institute of Management facilitating the students to cross the heavy traffic Avinashi road using this bridge. It is a giant bridge connecting the two colleges. Earlier there was a accident and this bridge collapsed initially. Later this bridge was rebuilt and now it is a successful one in Coimbatore.
